I. Product Types and Forms

The SD Series electric actuators adopt a modular structure. By combining different reducers, parts and motors of various specifications, they can form actuators of different types and specifications.

The SD Series electric actuators are divided into three types according to the output mode:

1.Quarter-turn type – Output torque, 90° rotation

2.Linear type – Output thrust and tension, linear displacement

3.Multi-turn type – Output torque, multi‑rotation over 360°

The SD Series electric actuators are divided into two types according to the installation mode:

1.Direct-mounted type – Connected directly to valves via the flange on the output part, allowing the actuator to be mounted directly on the pipeline.

This mounting method applies to multi‑turn, quarter‑turn and linear actuators.

2.Base-mounted type – Connected to valves via an output arm and linkage. The actuator must be installed on a foundation base.

This mounting method is only used for quarter‑turn actuators.

The SD Series electric actuators are divided into three types according to the control mode:

1.Proportional control type

The actuator receives 4–20 mA or 1–5 V analog signals from computers, regulators and other units.

The rotation angle (or displacement) of the output shaft is proportional to the signal, and the actuator automatically performs regulation.

Proportional control electric actuators are further divided into two structural and installation forms:

a. Integral proportional control type

The actuator and the GAMX‑D positioner are assembled as a single unit for on‑site installation and operation.

b. Separate proportional control type

The actuator and the GAMX positioner are installed separately.

The actuator is installed on‑site, while the positioner is installed indoors or elsewhere.

Note: Wiring is different between integral and separate types.

2.Remote control type (also called integral type)

The actuator accepts pulse or relay signals and can control the output shaft at any position.

3.On-off type (also called two-position type)

It receives on-off signals, and the actuator output can only be controlled at two limit positions: open and closed.

The separate proportional control electric actuator is essentially a remote-control type equipped with a separately mounted GAMX positioner.

II. Main Technical Characteristics

The following characteristics mainly apply to the proportional control type.

Items 1–6 below do not apply to remote-control and on-off types.
