Rotork has launched Pakscan P3, the third generation of its two-wire digital monitoring and control system, designed primarily for valve actuators and associated plant equipment. Pakscan P3 retains all the features of the Pakscan IIE system. It replaces and adds new technologies resulting from customer-driven developments.
Its new features can be divided into two categories: those that enhance system operational and mechanical performance, and those that simplify installation and operation. The former include Ethernet connectivity, built-in secure web server, time synchronisation, master station data logging, field unit commanding, and email alerts for status changes and alarm conditions.
In addition, master station and host communications have been enhanced with two serial ports, two Ethernet ports, and one external Ethernet port. Up to 10 hosts can communicate with the master station simultaneously via Ethernet. Readjustment of controller parameters can be carried out locally at the master station or remotely via host serial and Ethernet connections.
Pakscan P3 is configured for single-channel, dual-channel, and emergency operation systems, and uses Modbus RTU and TCP protocols. The new system enables fully seamless integration into existing Pakscan installations.
