On 4 November 2025, AUMA launched the SIL variant of its TIGRON series — a high-performance, explosion-proof electric actuator for the highest safety requirements. With a redundant system setup it achieves safety integrity levels up to SIL 3, while retaining outstanding configuration flexibility.

Key Features:

· Up to four safety functions configurable in a single actuator, parametrisable in any priority order;
· Certified safety functions: Safe ESD OPEN, Safe ESD CLOSE (each with or without timer function), Safe Stop, and safe end-position feedback for OPEN and CLOSE — managed by safety-related firmware;
· Customisable parameters cover end-position seating type, tripping torque and overload protection for the safety functions; a timer function slows the actuator near the valve end position to prevent pipeline pressure surges;
· Explosion protection rating IIC — particularly suited to hydrogen applications;
· Developed and evaluated per IEC 61508:2010 (SIL) and ISO 13849 (PL), certified by TÜV Nord;
· Broad interface range including Profinet, integrating with all common control systems; seamless data exchange with AUMA's CORALINK digital ecosystem supports predictive maintenance;
· Designed for complex safety-related systems, hydrogen use and tough operating conditions across water, oil & gas, power, industry, marine and nuclear markets.

Shortly after launch, the TIGRON SIL won the 2025 Primus Award in the Actuators category — industry recognition of the product's strength.
