This article compiles the commissioning method and terminal map for EMG electric actuators: limit reset, travel setting, torque adjustment, reversed-indication handling and the on-off/modulating terminal tables.

1. Resetting the Previously Set Limits

Press the Learn (LT) button and move toggle switch S1 to the Learn position: after about 10 s the local lamps (open/close) start flashing — commissioning state entered; after about 20 s both lamps go out — the previous limits are being erased; after about 35 s release Learn(LT) and the lamps flash again — the old limits are erased and the actuator is in the Learn (commissioning) state.

2. Open/Close Travel Setting

• Close limit: set S2 to CLOSE and run the actuator fully closed (S2 to STOP stops it at any time); return S2 to STOP, press and hold Learn while setting S2 to CLOSE again — CLOSE changes from flashing to steady: the close limit is set
• Open limit: set S2 to OPEN and run fully open (STOP stops it at any time); return S2 to STOP, press Learn while setting S2 to OPEN — OPEN goes steady: the open limit is set

Notes:

• When the actuator leaves a set end position the corresponding lamp flashes again; only after both end positions are set and Learn is exited do the lamps indicate normally
• If the fault lamp (red) stays lit while setting an end limit, the mechanical limit or actuator torque range is exceeded — the actuator backs off until the lamp goes out
• After both ends are set, re-setting a single limit alone is sufficient — no need to redo both
• Before commissioning set S1.4 and S1.5 to OFF and S2.7 to ON

3. Torque Setting

If the red fault lamp stays lit while opening — and the damper is not jammed — increase the torque (never above 95%) via R9 and R10 on the combined sensor: R9 = closing torque, R10 = opening torque.

4. Reversed Open/Close Indication

Open the local operation cover and set S3.8 to ON. A red alarm may then appear but can be ignored during commissioning — it clears once commissioning state is entered; then commission as above.

5. Terminal Map

• On/off type: open command 4, 20; close command 3, 20; open feedback 5, 9; close feedback 5, 7; fault 5, 10; jumper 1-21
• Modulating type: command 22, 24; position feedback 23, 24; open feedback 5, 9; close feedback 5, 7; fault 5, 10; jumpers 1-21 and 2-20
• The commons of the open/close feedback and fault contacts all land on terminal 5 — never tie the three hot ends together
• Modulating commissioning is the same as for the on/off type
