IQ3 Perform: Entry-Level Intelligent Actuation

The IQ3 Perform is an entry-level intelligent electric valve actuator for multi-turn and part-turn applications — a cost-effective introduction to IQ3 ownership. Key features:

• Continuous position tracking, even without power
• On power loss, the graphical interface, remote indication and data logger remain accessible
• Oil bath lubrication for extended life and any-orientation mounting
• Independent torque and position sensing for added protection
• A wide range of adjustable speeds
• Detachable thrust bases for easy installation and maintenance
• Double-sealed to IP66/68 — 7 m underwater for 72 hours, independent of terminal cover and cable gland sealing
• Motor-independent handwheel operation available at all times

Model Line-up

IQ3 Pro: The Flagship Tier

The IQ3 Pro targets demanding control and digitalisation applications. Its 2024 launch brought an integrated Ethernet solution with EtherNet/IP connectivity, and Rotork joined Rockwell Automation's Technology Partner program. The IQ3 Pro and CVA actuators offer extensive data logging, diagnostics and asset-management functions, with data analysed through Rotork's Insight 2 software, alongside enhanced cybersecurity design meeting the access-control and data-security requirements of industrial environments.

Safety Applications and Partial Stroke Testing

The intelligent microprocessors of the IQ3 range can be configured to execute partial stroke testing (PST): a small partial movement from the limit position verifies the availability of safety valves in line, without full stroking or process interruption. Together with configurable parameters such as the partial stroke profile, maximum starts per hour and motor run time, this supports online proof testing of safety interlock loops.
